What is water damage?
The liquid itself is usually not damaging to the device. It can, however, cause a short circuit between multiple components. This can even happen for the first time several days after the incident! The liquid inside of the device cannot escape. Most liquids, including water, leave a residu behind on the components. This can also cause short circuits and other problems.
Most common defects with water damage
With laptops, it's usually the keyboard that becomes defective because of water damage.
With smartphones and tablets the screen is almost always dead because of water damage. Other common defective parts are: charging port, microphone, speakers
This is because these parts usually get the majority of the liquid over themselves. Often, they are damaged to such an extent that they have to be replaced.
1. First steps
Bring the device as quickly as possible to a dry place. If the device is on, turn it off. Don't turn the device on and don't charge it! Dry the device carefully with a dry cloth.
2. Bring the device for cleaning

3. Cleaning of the device
We clean the device completely, inside and out. Then we test the components and create a report. If we can still save the device, then we offer a quote for the full repair of the device. The defective components get replaced and the device is as good as new!
